INNERchamber 2012/2013 season
INNERchamber is a music series that reshapes the typical concert experience. Held in Stratford, the concerts feature the Factory Arts Ensemble with special guests, performing chamber music by the finest composers.
Included in the price for all our events is food catered by Stratford restaurants. A cash bar is also available, and patrons can enjoy a drink during the show.
But why chamber music? Many composers created their finest musical works for small groups. A concert where the audience is just a few feet away from the performers is a more visceral and intimate experience compared to a large concert hall. In a large space, the audience can listen to the music, but misses out on the nuances and the intense communication between the players that brings such masterpieces to life.
We hope you will join us for a diverse exploration of chamber music to stir the senses

When it comes to vocal talent, Africa, and more particularly South Africa, has spawned the most evocative sounds on earth and still produces the very best that the world has to offer in this art form. Soweto Gospel Choir is that very best. “..songs calculated to go straight to the heart, sung with that joyous sense of celebration and exuberance that only black South African choirs seem capable of achieving.” - West Australian, Perth
The Grammy Award winning Soweto Gospel Choir have been touring the world for the past ten years, singing for Oprah Winfrey, Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, President Clinton and audiences of thousands on shows such as Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon. They have won numerous accolades and awards including several American Gospel Music Awards, Billboard Awards, and an amazing two Grammy Awards. But no amount of glittering international recognition and praise has diverted Soweto Gospel Choir from the mission it holds close at heart. In 2003 the choir founded its own aids orphans foundation, Nkosi’s Haven Vukani. To date, the choir has collected over 4 million for their foundation.
“(The choir) has a cornucopia of remarkable voices: sharp, sweet, kindly, raspy and incantatory leads above a magnificently velvety blend…..the music was both meticulous and unstoppable…..the songs were both spirited and spectacular”
JON PARELES – THE NEW YORK TIMES
“Having the opportunity to sing with Soweto Gospel Choir during my recent visit to South Africa was a wonderful experience for me. They have such beautifully soulful voices, and gorgeous harmonies…and they sing with such a natural rhythm. I can’t wait to work with them again!”
